Design is more than meets the eye...

Five creatives meet five pieces of South African design on a blind date. They go home together and a love story with design unfolds, documented in five individual lookbooks.

Appreciation for design is so often visual. What happens when you remove the sense of sight? We invited five creatives to be our ‘eyes’ – to meet, unwrap and discover design blind. Each locally made piece was carefully chosen to match the eyes’ styles so – naturally – it was love at first sight. The pair went home together and, as they got to know one another, our eyes captured their romance in a visual story. Their lookbooks let us in on their unique points of view and explore why ‘design is more than meets the eye’.
