PICHULIK, an ethical jewellery and accessories atelier in Cape Town are exploring ‘Ousia’, a philosophical and theological term to express the true being of a thing – as they reflect on their tenth birthday

PICHULIK collections honour the bravery and beauty innate to all women, everywhere, echoed in the words, ‘You are Enough’.
In OUSIA Season 1, 2023, materials are stripped down to their most basic form, juxtaposing raw rope, semi-precious stones, cast brass and cotton thread. Earthy Jasper stones in dalmation and red hues animate the Ousia earrings. The signature black and natural rope weave of the Sophia earrings, and Belamour statement neckpiece, echoes the natural pattern of the Jasper.
Through its form, materials and allegory, the OUSIA Collection beckons the essential, unbridled nature of the wearer. In this chapter, the PICHULIK woman has nothing to hide or defend. She is brave, curious, adorned and whole in her unique distinctness.
