here is the deepest secret nobody knows

the world is resting without sound or motion

so soft, so calm, yet eloquent.

the colour of unremarkable walls,

of quiet rooms,

where light falls gently.

Only this and nothing more.

stand still.

step lightly.

allow silence to do its work.

because what is this life if,

full of care,

we have no time to stand and stare?

*words (in order of appearance) by E. E. CUMMINGS, Sara Teasdale, Lord Byron, Pablo Neruda, Edgar Allan Poe, Matsuo Bashō, Mary Oliver, Edgar Allan Poe and W. H. Davies
